A new raid is coming soon.

It will take place between the 14th and 30th of July.

The distance per day will be 80-120 km.

The destinations will be Hungary and Romania.

More information will come soon.

I have been to Ireland with my bike to participate in a BRM qualification for the PBP 2019.

Here is my bike, the day of departure.

I tied a roll of stretch wrap, found in a local store, on the handlebars.

On the baggage rack, I placed the cardboard that will be used to protect the bike all around, once at the airport.

I settled in the airport near the baggage check and unfolded the cardboard on the ground, put my bike on it and closed the box.

I then packed everything in the stretch wrap as shown in the picture below.

To make this package, you need tape and a small knife that you will put careffuly in a luggage of the bike because you will need to return.

Same note for the stretch wrap roll that you can see on the picture above on the luggage rack.

You also need a nice person who has the time to help you to hold the bike (there are many nice person in the airports) while you turn around with the stretch wrap .

Count an hour to pack.

Unfortunately, the day before the BRM in Ireland, the weather announced a Yellow Warning, translate a storm with masses of polar air.

The event was therefore canceled but I still made part of the course despite the very variable weather, sun, rain, grelon, snow ... as evidenced by the following picture.

I also took advantage of my free time to take the train with my bike and go to the south of Ireland.

It is recommended to book online for your bike as there are only two places available for bikes throughout the train.

The coach that accepts the bikes is at the beginning or the end of the train and is marked with a bicycle sticker as shown in the following photo.

The train is very comfortable for travelers but also for bicycle as shown on the picture below.

I always liked riding a bike and until I was 16 and my first moped, I always went to school by bike.

At the question "riding high or on a roll?" I choice the first.
My first trip to Romania was in 2003. I also welcomed bike riders to my home and I enjoyed meeting new people.
I hope there will be furthermore!

I have been to Budapest this summer with my bike and my dog. I have crossed Germany, Styrie in austria and I have travelled along the Balaton.  It was very pleasant to travel with my dog.

You will find below some pictures of my journey :

Disassemble the handlebar, place it in the longitudinal direction and fix it to the frame with self-adhesive tape and the wheels so that they do not turn anymore.

Remove the pedals with a wrench. Be careful that the left pedal is removed by turning the key clockwise (as shown in the picture) while the right pedal is the opposite.

Place the pedals inside by screwing them.

Deflate the tires and place the wheels well longitudinal.

Then there are two methods of packing.

The first is the use of a cardboard box that you can find at a bike dealer.

Place the bike in this box.

And close it.

To transport the carton to the airport, fold it and place it on your back support by securing it strongly.

The second method requires stretch wrap and pieces of card board that you place on the front wheel and rear wheel to protect the entire derailleur.
